You’ve been dreaming about a trip for a while… let me help you book it!
#1. CVG is clean and safe. (So safe they literally won an award for it.)
Look, I’m kind of a germaphobe. Always have been, always will be. You’ve heard me talking a lot about the Fly Healthy stuff that CVG has been doing for a while; floor scrubbing roombas on steroids, a dedicated team of people cleaning high touch points and bathrooms, requiring masks for everyone, and sanitizer literally everywhere!
In fact, the airport has done such a good job with safety and cleanliness, a big group called the Airport Council International (ACI) made CVG the first airport in the Midwest to receive the Airport Health Accreditation!

#2. You can get a COVID-19 test at the airport — And results in as little as 20 minutes!
Getting fast COVID-19 testing results has been a challenge and some destinations require you to have a negative COVID-19 test when you arrive. CVG has made it fast and easy with on-site coronavirus testing through Skyology Lab. It’s right next to the security line and you can get three kinds of testing.
The most common test, the Molecular PCR Test, is the one where they stick the cotton swap up your nose. BUT, and I can’t stress this enough, DO. NOT. WORRY! They don’t do the whole tickle-the-back-of-your-brain thing… it’s just a Q-Tip rubbed gently just a little bit inside of your nose. I had it done. It’s quick, painless, and you’ll get printed results in less than 35 minutes. You can also get the RAPID Antigen test or the Serology Antibody Test (the little finger poke) and get your results in 20 minutes.
Even better? If you need a test for work or visiting family, you don’t have to be traveling to use this service! Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. Click here to find out more about on-site COVID testing at CVG. Check out my video with this blog – I took the test – no problem at all!

#3. CVG has some of the best prices on flights in the Midwest! (I mean, $65 for a round-trip flight to Miami… non-stop? C’mon y’all!)
If you need to take a break but aren’t sure where you’d like to visit – your flexibility might lead to the lowest airfare. I love finding cheap flights and I post crazy good ones regularly on the Jay’s Deals page right here.
You’ve heard me mention often how CVG has ridiculously low flight prices, but here’s some recent proof.
I just did a quick Google Flight search and you can book a ROUND-TRIP, NON-STOP flight with a carry-on bag to:
- Las Vegas for $99 on Delta
- Fort Lauderdale for $97 on Allegiant
- Sarasota for $79 on Frontier
- Los Angeles for $199 on Delta
- Orlando for $106 on Allegiant
- Miami for $65 on American
- Denver for $97 on Delta
- Chicago for $99 on United
(Found on 2/25/21. Current prices may be higher or lower.)
CVG has plenty of nonstop destinations – check ‘em out! Here’s my deals page for some additional options, too!
It’s no wonder people drive from nearby cities like Louisville and Lexington in Kentucky, Indianapolis, Indiana, Dayton and Columbus in Ohio, and Charleston, WV to take advantage of our awesome low airfares! That short drive can add up to massive savings for a family of five!

#4. Companies like Vacation Express make it easy to take a break without the hassle
Ok, maybe you’re not exactly the kind of person who thinks competitive travel shopping should be an Olympic sport. (That’s cool. We can still be friends!) You’d rather just find a place to go, click a button, and have someone else take care of everything else.
Meet Vacation Express.
They’ve been booking hassle-free vacations for millions of people since 1989 and they’ve been having some really great deals from CVG lately to places like Cancun, Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, and Cozumel.
These trips include literally everything. Airfare, hotel, meals, drinks, airport shuttles, and some even include activities! Just pack your swimsuit and go.
And if you’re the last-minute type, Vacation Express has a last-minute deals page where you can save up to 84% on your trip from CVG.

#5. A good vacation can make you happier, healthier, and more productive when you return
We’ve been on endless Zooms, distance learning, and cooped up in our homes. It’s been one of the most challenging times for a lot of families. You probably need a break. And your mind and body will thank you.
I just read a great article in Travel and Leisure that talked about the health benefits of a vacation – your heart health improves, your brain power is boosted, and there’s scientific evidence that taking a break can actually help you live longer.
It’s our family policy to shut off our work email and enjoy the moment while we’re on vacation. Some friends can’t believe we do it. But it’s been such a positive move for us. We come back to work refreshed and our creative batteries are recharged.
I love what I do. But taking time to disconnect and unwind is healthy.

So treat yourself and take a break. You deserve it!
-Jay
