Hey, I'm Jay

When I’m not DJing on Cincinnati’s Mix 94.9, you can find me traveling the world and sharing my journeys here.

When it comes to airlines – the more, the merrier!

May the flights be with you this May as two well-known airlines will call CVG home.

I love the look of their planes! Photo: Alaska Airlines

First up is Alaska Airlines. I’m so pumped that they’re going to start flying from CVG on May 20th with daily non-stop flights to Seattle.  This flight also creates more one-stop destination options for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

Ask anyone who has flown with Alaska.  They will most likely rave about their customer service, flight crews, and generous rewards program.  Plus, the Alaska Airlines credit card offers some pretty nice benefits including 50,000 bonus miles and their Famous Companion Fare™ from $121 every year you have the card.

And don’t worry, safety is covered – just check out their famous Safety Dance

Sun Country Airlines is also taking off with twice weekly flights to Minneapolis from CVG starting on May 14.  They’ve been around for 20 years and fly to 55 cities across the US, Mexico, and the Caribbean.  Nicknamed the capital of cool – Minneapolis is known for its vibrant nightlife and its creative community of art and eateries, not to mention the Mall of America, the largest shopping mall in the US.  This route addition also opens up more one-stop trips including West Coast destinations like Orange County, CA (just checked out a few flights for $244 roundtrip!) and Hawaii.

BONUS:  United Airlines just announced new non-stop service to Hilton Head, SC,  Charleston, SC, Pensacola, FL, and Portland, Maine beginning May 27.

SUPER EXTRA BONUS:  Viva Aerobus is adding non-stop service to Los Cabos, Mexico from May 29 to August 8. I’ve had multiple friends fly with them and they were very happy with their flights.  You can book your tickets as part of a Vacation Express trip as well.

And, as the Cincinnati Reds start a new season with fans in attendance, we have to talk baseball.  But why mention sports in a travel blog?  CVG is the Official Airport of the Cincinnati Reds and offers over non-stop flights to over 50 destinations and many with multiple airline choices

So why not enjoy watching a Reds game online poolside while you sip your favorite beverage?

The world is starting to get back to normal and CVG wants to help get you (and your favorite sports team) where you need to go safely and at the lowest cost possible!
